The tool post body is made from chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, thru hardened, surface treated and xylan coated for protection and durability in machining environments. The core thru hardness is 40-44 Rc and the surface is Ion-Nitrided to a hardness of 60-64 Rc for excellent wear resistance.
