Dial calipers use a dial to accurately help you read a work piece or tool in fractions of a millimeter or inch. This is done by a rack and pinion that allows a pointer to move around a circular dial; these calipers are great for lightweight or heavy-duty applications inside your machine or woodworking shop when precision is necessary. These calipers feature adjustable jaws that move across a rail to precisely measure the inside and outside dimensions of your work (A caliper with upper jaws is required for internal measurements).
