Ground Thread
Used for pipe fittings and the sizes are determined by the nominal pipe size.
Interrupted Thread – Every other thread is eliminated. This is helpful where chip clearance is needed or coolant flow is obstructed. Works well in moldmaking. Can work well on cast aluminum and cast iron.
NPT – For tapping tapered pipe threads. This is the most common of all pipe tap styles. The tapered thread form creates a pressure-tight joint when used with a sealant.
